Dining Out

What's on the menu... it's all Delicious. Yes it's the social bookmark site that works like favorite but more securely. I'm very experienced to reinstalling a computer after a crash (i had three in a month earlier this year, thanks to microsoft automatic installer program). I tend to save and back up everything, except my bookmarks (firefox term - to all the IE users it's Favorites). Therefore i can understand a useful site such as Delicious.

Very easy to sign in, as long as you have a Yahoo ID (what happened to gmail?!). My menu can be found at delicious.com/anzha2.1. At this stage i've only got 4, which is quite meagre and library orientated. Bookmarks are easy to add as long as you have the website address. This usually means one might have to open a second menu or a new tab in order to chase up that elusive site.

It also offers an option to share on your twitter account, which is quite easy and works remarkedly well. At this stage i can't see the tag bundle working for me as i only have 4 libray-orientated bookmarks. Suppose its a good way when you have like 600 as http://delicious.com/PublicLibraryServices does...

I didn't try the link or tag rolls as i had already used the newtork badges which is in the bar below all my postings here on blogger.

So the meal review: the concept seems like a good one, and the options available to share is a real treat. What my concern is with this is that webpages come and go. Some change to other domains. Others just become too old for taste. It's fine when you have a dish worth of bookmarks. It's too overpowering when its a 10+ course meal. How can you monitor when you have quite a number of bookmarks? Should you be even have that much?

Library wise... i can see how the link rolls option would be good on the library website. I can see how it would help Children & Youth Librarians with their personal menus of crafts and songs (and share them with other colleagues like tapas).
